Conservative before Conservative was cool
David Gold is a hard-hitting conservative/libertarian talk show host. Thirty years ago, with an undergraduate degree in political science and a Masters in journalism in hand, he started his successful career in Denver, Colorado, with his mentor, the liberal Alan Berg at his side.
The Voice of Reason
Being a political news junkie himself, with an uncanny ability to keep track of years' worth of information has earned him accolades coming from those in the radical right to the ultra-liberal left as the "most well-informed" political commentator they know. His opinions are strong, his determination unyielding to fight for an educated society, as well as freedom from intrusive government and bureaucracy.
Always Right or Libertarian?
Gold seems to find himself an equal opportunity offender on many subjects. While holding strong views about morality and decency, he is strident in his defense of liberty. Religious conservatives are frustrated by his assertion that drugs and prostitution should be legalized, social conservatives by his defense of free speech, and liberals by his insistence that gays deserve equal, but not more, rights than any other American.
His personality and style is at once confrontational and considerate. While taking no prisoners, allowing no nonsense from callers or even his favorite Republican party leaders, he has an ability to endear even his most determined opponents when they confront the "nice guy" behind the voice.
Multidimensional or a Conundrum?
David Gold has been featured in local and national magazines and newspapers. He has been a guest on many programs including "Nightline", "Crossfire", "Good Morning America", and he co-hosted a weekly debate, "FlashPoint", on the Dallas NBC Affiliate KXAS.
Politics aren't Gold's only interest. He was a national trivia competitor, with his favorite subjects being rock'n roll, sports, and movies. He is an avid Golfer, a devoted husband to his wife of 16 years, DeAnna, and proud father to their 2 sons Jared (15) and Jonathan (13).
All this has made David Gold a favorite source for the latest information, commentary, and discourse on issues and current events. Gold brings to us a show that is intelligent, rational, and controversial, while still being a heck of a lot of fun!
