Egypt's pro-democracy activists feel their grip slipping
Opposition groups seek to postpone September elections amid fears that the more unified Muslim Brotherhood and members of the former regime will gain too much influence.

Terrorist attack on Israel on the Egyptian border. This is a very serious development. Since Camp David Egypt has been at peace with Israel. There are elements that desire that peace to end.

GRAPHIC VIOLENCE:
Raw video of police/military tanks/suvs running over [muslim/christian/generic] protestors in the streets ...

It appears to me that the "arab spring" in Egypt is not over, yet, by any stretch ... it just allowed the police/military to get completely out of control. 24 or more killed, hundreds wounded, thousands assaulted ...

The protesting crowd is made up of mostly Coptic Christians but also many like minded Muslims and others, "sitting in" protest of Muslim Brotherhood types throwing rocks at the crowds around a newly remodeled Coptic Christian church (last week and yesterday). The link between the Egyptian military/police and the Muslim Brotherhood is overtly tenuous ... but, who in their media (or ours) knows for sure. There are also indications that military/police relationships with religious sects varies from district to district.

A totally confusing situation for those of us on the outside looking in. ...

IMOP: Egypt population is more than 90 Million of which about 10% are Coptic Christian but the religious sect, the Muslim Brotherhood, is by no means in the majority and both groups seem to be losing the struggle for the hearts and minds (and media) of the general populace ... maybe.

And how many cheered for these changes - to include this administration? And BU can say the GOP hasn't a clue with their candidates. Any of them would be superior to this clueless bunch.

Two more female journalists sexually assaulted in the streets of Cairo. Meanwhile, Obama supports the mobs. This doesn't end well.

Showing support for Egypt's protesters, the White House on Friday called on Egypt's interim military rulers to quickly hand over power as thousands took to the streets in Cairo.

Seems to me the Americans taken prisoner in Egypt amounts to another Iranian hostage crisis? If Bush were POTUS this would really be a big deal.

Elections in Egypt today. The Muslim Brotherhood declares its candidate has won Egypt's presidential election... meanwhile the military is seizing power. Parliament was dissolved a few days ago.

The whole place is turning into a dog's breakfast. Don't be surprised if the Arab Spring becomes the Summer of Civil War. Getting really ugly...

This woman is stuck on stupid. Sorry, blonde haired Western women in the midst of an Egyptian revolution is asking for trouble. Other women have suffered this fate in Egypt. I feel horrible for what she endured. But, this is plain stupidity.

“Please God. Please make it stop.”

Cairo - Embassy attacked; flag removed
Libya - attack, death of an envoy, possible envoy
***
History records these are acts of war, even if done by mobs. Local authorities failed to maintain any semblance of control. Meanwhile, back home, the president continues to campaign and issues no statements. The embassy in Cairo apologizes for a film. And I am guessing that the Marines who are normally assigned embassy duties have a very limited rule of engagement.
The complete lack of response from the WH; the tepid statement of appeasement from Cairo; and the death of envoy or ambassador in Libya shows just how far this administration has taken the US away from the force and stature it once held. I'm hopeful now that 9/11 passed that the R&R campaign jumps into this mess - and yes I know we will hear the squeals from the left about criticizing the president but on this, the very lack of action from the office that needs to show spine, deserves to be called out.
At least one person has the cahones to call him out - the so-called dunce from Alaska wrote very well on the situation. SOURCE

Romney did respond and naturally the WH whined
SOURCE
WH - keeping to script - blame someone else - we didn't clear that statement even though SoS Clinton said the very same words. The president is suppose to lead and therefore take responsibility - time for this man-child to be defeated as there is no excuse for this country to be led by such incompetence. Enjoy your campaign trip to NV and CO today, Mr. President.
