Are unacceptable. At least not due to the failure of the "super committee." These automatic cuts would gut the military. Put troops at risk. Some cuts are necessary. Others are foolhardy. National defense is a legitimate function of the federal government.

I understand that every Dem loves to cut the defense budget, but why in hell did we agree to this auto-cut thing in the stupid committee? Better yet, why in hell do we have a committee in the first place?

The desired goal of the super committee, at least for the libs, was just this result. Total castration of the military. No military, no superpower status, happy liberals.

And look at all that freed up tax moneys that can be spent bribing voters!
