Default First Amendment in peril

http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v...irzg&vq=medium

HR347 Is the house bill, Judge Napolitano was interviewed on Fox News saying this is very scary, first step in taking away the First Amendment.

If the government is given the power to dictate what we spend our own money on, what is the point of a first amendment?

good point, but it is getting worse isn't it? He wants to arrest those who protest if the Secret Service is close by.

Aside, but related:

"When it comes to the Constitution, the Obama administration can't lay a glove on the Supreme Court" - By Judge Andrew P. Napolitano - April 03, 2012

"Earlier this week, President Obama took a cheap shot at the Supreme Court by suggesting that because its members are “unelected” they are somehow without authority to invalidate unconstitutional legislation. This is hardly a sentiment that should come from anyone sworn to uphold the Constitution, much less a public servant who is a lawyer, much less a person who once taught constitutional law at one of the nation’s best law schools.

The whole purpose of a life-tenured, unelected, independent judiciary is to be anti-democratic; to preserve life, liberty, and property from the tyranny of the majority. Without such a judiciary, nothing but brute force would protect us from a Congress that recognized no limits on its authority.

Suppose that Congress, over the president’s veto, declared Joe Biden insane and removed him from office, or directed that Mrs. Obama lose custody of her children because she sent one of her daughters on a foreign trip without either parent, or that the First Amendment does not apply to those who hate the Chicago Cubs? Wouldn’t the president expect that “an unelected group of people” in black robes would interfere with those actions?

Has he actually forgotten that an unelected group of people overturned segregated schools which was the beginning of the end of Jim Crow laws, ordered the government to try or to free people it has arrested, prevented the prosecution of unpopular speech, invalidated the federal regulation of guns near schools, and ordered a president who thought he was above the law to turn over subpoenaed tapes to a federal district court? ... [more] ..."

I don't think he has any trouble with the unelected bureaucracy that not only devises regulations but also sits in judgment and execution. Talk about the unaccountable!

Thanks for posting this, Daisy.

Where did this bill come from?

Who voted for it

Was the ACLU asleep? This is their bread and butter.

I almost threw up while listening to the video.

... coming soon: This very free speech protected blog will come under fire from the FCC/Just Us/Admin with the "new" internet restrictions ...

These two UnConstitutional laws in conjunction effectively eliminate the First Amendment Rights to free speech.

All of this is Fascist progressive meatballism. The not so slow erosion of of the First Ten Amendments by the elected helots.

The single most important question for Any Candidate for Any Office:

"What part of the US Constitution do you want to change?"

Didn't Nancy Pelosi want to amend the first amendment? Too much freedom going on out there.

Nancy is an arrogant witch.
She also said with regard to Obamacare, was just sign it, you can read it later. Of course she and all of congress are exempt.
