China is beginning to flex it's military muscle in the South China Sea. How long before they flex their economic muscles, reminding ANY US President that they house a significant part of our manufacturing, and threatening to cut us off?

Not to mention they might start selling the trillion dollars of debt they hold, which would force us to raise interest rates significantly, thus wreaking havoc with our economy.

At that point, those corporations whose production is in China, and their bought and paid for elected so called representatives, including whichever party is in the presidency at that time, will cave. Not to mention the US consumer, who will face higher prices and shortages of goods, not to mention the inability to buy the latest I-Phone.

I know it's a requirement among the right wing that everything is further excuse to hate Obama. At the expense of common sense thinking about the future of this country.

How's those Chinese lessons coming? You're gonna need to speak the language of your new masters.

Look. The mismanagement of foreign affairs by a succession of incompetents, interrupted only by Kennedy and Reagan, and the utter corruption and incomptence of a long line of Congresses and bureaucrats make it look very grim indeed for the US. But, you are completely discounting the dog on which that tail wags. I'm sure that the Chinese are far less confident of their ascendancy as you and so many others appear to be because they do business with the real movers and shakers of this country, not the over blown and far less important parasite class that sits in Washington.

When pushed too far, what we will call "Bad America" might just take over the situation and the world is ill-prepared for such a turn of events. We are not a people easily dominated. In fact, from a strictly historical perspective, we have mostly dominated the world for quite a few centuries. We are currently turning our venom inwardly, for now. But watch what happens if someone comes at us with force attempting to cash their checks militarily. Those corporations and their so-called representatives might just decide to expend a bit of our arsenal and wipe that debt out the old fashioned way.
