Typically when either or both stop getting much media attention, that is when these marriages fall apart. Neither has likely spent much time on the front pages for some time. That is why the majority of these marriages are a farce and have little meaning other than how they can prosper financially from it. But it's Wall Street that are the evil capitalists. Hollywood is full of them, though they'd rather die than admit it, but that's exactly what they are.

NY Post is all over this. I find this interesting not because of the divorce, but because of the role of Scientology.

*shrug* Celebraties.

I've gotta wonder if the entire marriage was a sham, though. The South Park episode Trapped in a Closet, which accused Tom Cruise of being gay, was a little over six years ago. The marriage to Katie Holmes might have been a PR move to prove Mr Cruise was heterosexual. Dunno... could be.

I find this very interesting. Not because of the divorce. But, in regard to the actions of Scientology. How far will they go in dealing with Katie? She has a great book to write here. Scientology is a cult. They attempt to intimidate defectors. I've interviewed these people on the show. Very scary group.

Scientology is powerful in Hollywood.

As to Katie, there is a question of just how much she bought into Scientology. it is not clear if she converted or not at the time of the marriage.

Raising the daughter seemed to be the flash point. Katie had apparently enrolled Suri in a Catholic pre-school. Tom wanted the daughter boarded at the Scientology school but sounds like Katie took matter into her own hands.

I recall a radio gossip piece a year or more ago. Katie was supposedly sighted at a monastery and the spin was that she was there to visit a nun friend of hers. Who knows, maybe she was setting up to arrange pre-school for their daughter.

Speculation - it might have been Regina Laudis which is a destination for troubled stars and other prominent women to go to to sort things out.

Why she married Cruise is the big question. Like she knew this wouldn't happen.
