I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I'd walk at night or very early and avoid the 100 and stupid part of the day.

Keep up the good work.

No way would I call you stupid. It's the temperature that's a hundred and stupid.

Just go after sunset when its not so hot, or early morning. I sit out in the morning and paly my guit-fiddle. Comfortable until about 9 a.m.

I like walking and sweating in the heat, I just can't walk as far right now, I won't be gone long enough to be in any real danger... like I was the other day.

So you've lost ten pounds just in the month of walking?

Yes.

I have a theory about "easy pounds" and all that. The longer you have it the harder it will be to lose it. I spent most of my life around 250 and I was 276 and now I am in the mid-260's. My theory is that I will burn through the "easy" pounds in a month or so and then everything gets tougher. The goal is 220 which is "ideal" for my height-apparently.

Something like that.

Plus I have been sedentary for a while, a body gets used to it and even this limited activity might be enough to burn off "easy pounds".

The next phase is really cutting down on calories as well as the walking.

I found an easy bunch of calories to cut were the cokes and the beer. Two or three cokes a day and a beer or two after work is about 600 useless calories a day. I don't know your soda/beer habits but those are an easy place to start dumping calories. Diet Sodas are supposed to be just as bad for you and your weight.

Ain't none of 'em easy pounds to lose.

I love soda. and bread.

I guess I can drink more water and get some of that lemonade powder for variety.

"Easy" being walking a couple miles a day, I was sedentary before that but now I WANT to walk. I haven't really changed my eating habits and I have lost some weight. Later I will have to do more to lose the same amount of weight, I suspect.

If you can tolerate use Gatorade powder for the electrolyte replacement. Keep up the good work but it is an old wives tale if anyone thinks you can exercise to heat tolerance. That is a function of hydration and minerals. So be careful in the heat - if you are asphalt / sidewalks - add 8-12 degrees. That is typically what I see on my bicycle computer.

I am walking every day, just not as far as I had hoped. It was pretty hot again today.

I walked more than 2 miles in this heat today but I felt more tired than yesterday, not that it will stop me.
