Intelligent design. What is it, and how does it apply to Christianity?

Most people including atheists as well as many Christians hate this phrase because it points to science proving that God exists, or some other entity outside of our space-time, but the level of evidence is shocking.

Scientists have for the past 50 years regarded evolution as the defacto way humanity started. This is starting to change with the recent advances of origin of life researches, and creationalists who have found that early earth could not have housed a primordal soup of any kind. Now they are looking for an "intelligent" alien species to pepper early earth with all the ingrediants for humanity and all species around it. Agnostic scientists are not ready to give the Glory.

DNA research has concluded that DNA is nothing more than written code, and any type of written code designates an intelligence. Now how could any type of DNA come about, on its own, with written code as its source? Did it learn on its own? Did it evolve from nothing to something this complex?

Cell research has concluded that the simplest cell known to man is designed in such a way for it to replicate, repair itself, and to stay alive on its own. This simple cell is far beyond anything we human beings could create in its simplicity and functionality. We cannot recreate cells from non organic matter. We cannot create a single cell! So how did the first cells come to be? The level of design in these cells are awe inspiring. If you find a watch in a forest, no intelligent being would think it was formed from the ground on its own. The leaves, dirt, and metal did not all of a sudden decide to form this contraption.

Astronomers and Cosmologists agree that the level of design in this universe is beyond anything they have thought possible. If this universe was any younger, or any older, humanity would never have started, this Earth would have been to hot or to cold for any life to exist at all, and our sun would not be in its stable burning cycle. There are over 200 life events in this universe to happen at precise times that if they have change in just a few percentage points, stars would not have formed, galaxies would not exist, and this universe would not have formed the way it did, and more are being found every year.

So who can we thank for all of these designs for life?
