This is left wing garbage. The screenplay is written from the book of the same name by the same 2 guys who wrote that really good movie Matrix so I had hope for it.
This movie advocates anarchy . The book was written in response to Thatcher being PM of England. The movie has a conservative PM rounding up homosexuals and putting them in prison while the homosexuals in flashbacks are frolicking in the park and kissing and cuddling from their old life.
The media is government controlled and a secret police type operates in England with V, Phantom of the Opera or Batman type, fighting it through random acts of violence.
It is just disjointed bs with no real theme except anarchy I thought.
In a wierd scene a homosexual tv personality has a secret room with a Nazi symbol on one wall and lovingly taks about the beauty of the Koran. He really admires it. A gay man admiring the Koran? Has he read what it says about homosexuality? Idiocy.
It has a lot of symbolism and I won't give away the ending because I didn't make it through to the end but I read what happened.
