Libya: US Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed Tues. by rocket attack when he and some embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff. *This* is an act of war. Murdering an ambassador is about as bad as it gets.

So, the Muslim Brotherhood and their ilk have declared war on the United States. Will "O'l Yelller" Obama respond? I doubt it.

I guess throwing Mohimar Kadafi out of power wasn't such a good idea after all...

No one really cares - iPhone 5 comes out today.

A civil society will always precede the establishment of democratic government. Anyone who really thought the "Arab Spring" would work and even worse, to many who compared the revolution in Egypt and Libya to America were simply foolish.

Can't you hear Obama condemning the attacks "in the strongest terms" from his position leading from behind. I'm sure he will warn them that he will be really mad it they do it again, "in the strongest terms."

HC: "the world should be shocked"
BHO: "justice will be done"
***
Not holding my breath - the world won't be shocked and really, justice? Embassies are territories of the country they represent and should be defended immediately. Spine versus linguine needed today - you want to shock the world - respond in kind - a few jets and a number of "small and savage group" meet their makers would demonstrate the proper resolve.
***
The first principle to teach - we believe in freedom and someone's state may be offensive to you but words, cartoon, films, comedic performance gives ZERO justification to respond to our freedom with the attack and subsequent death of an ambassador. We don't expect the government to be an arm condemning someone practicing this freedom.

First, they believe that their god is so weak they must kill over words. If their god can't protect himself, he must not be a god.

Second, our country should not grant recognition of any religion that advocates death and harm to anyone who has not harmed another. But it is the political weakness that few politicians will call a liar a liar. The insistence is we must respect the office. Bull!

Obviously I would not make a good diplomat.

Caller of the day on Rush: The rioters were claiming to be "Osamas" - maybe the true cause is the "football spiking" done by the president and DIMS relative to the killing of OBL?

Egyptian attack of US embassy and killing of US ambassador in Libya unforgivable. Meanwhile, US embassy apologizes for critical video video on Islam.
We apologize for our First Amendment rights.

Recent events in Egypt indicate that the Islamofascists are having it their way.

The whole hub hub is over the wording and specifics in the proposed draft constitution, which specifies:

"... PART I: STATE AND SOCIETY

Chapter One: Political principles

Article 1

The Arab Republic of Egypt is an independent sovereign state, united and indivisible, its system democratic.
The Egyptian people are part of the Arab and Islamic nations, proud of belonging to the Nile Valley and Africa and of its Asian reach, a positive participant in human civilization.

Article 2
Islam is the religion of the state and Arabic its official language. Principles of Islamic Sharia are the principal source of legislation.

Article 3

The canon principles of Egyptian Christians and Jews are the main source of legislation for their personal status laws, religious affairs, and the selection of their spiritual leaders.

 ..."
- Proposed Egyptian Constitution Translated

The idea, apparently, is to make Sharia law first and foremost, with all others (and possibly only those others specified) playing second fiddle to any Egyptian Judge's or Egyptian Legislator's edicts, as only Islamic Judges can legislate or modify law.

Also of note:

There appears several Articles which re-enforce private property rights, quite specifically. This appears to include rights to weapons of self defense and home defense, but also seems to specify that the Egyptian military has first authority over this, with an appropriate Judge's Court order. ... but the top of the list (above) also seems to prevail ... Egyptian Court Judges, of course, being Sharia Law Judges, possibly excluding all others.

The main thrust of the "Social and ethical principles

" and "Economic Principles" are right out of the "progressive" socialist handbook. "... National economy shall be organized in accordance with a comprehensive, constant development plan, ensuring the increase of national income, enhancement of standard of living, elimination of poverty and unemployment, increase of work opportunities, and increase of production. ... Wages shall be linked to production, bridging income gaps and establishing a minimum wage that would guarantee decent living standards for all citizens, and a maximum wage in civil service positions with exemptions regulated by [Sharia] law. ... The State is committed to the development of the countryside and the desert, working to raise the standard of living of the farmers and the people of the desert. ... Article 22 Public funds are inviolable. It is a national duty of the State and society to safeguard them.

... Article 23 The State shall support cooperatives in all forms and ensure their independence.

... Article 24 Private property is inviolable and has a function in the service of national economy without deviation or monopoly. The right of inheritance shall be safeguarded. Private property may not be placed under sequestration except in cases specified by law, and with a court order. Ownership of property may not be removed except in cases where the public good requires and with just compensation paid in advance.
All of the above shall be regulated by law. ..."

---

In my opinion, these and the extended diatribe of the rest is an open door for complete and total Central Planning edicts and rule ... which inevitably will lead, as all "progressive" socialist ideals do, to grief, gulags and graves. If carried out as "planned" this constitution would seriously degrade the rights of the practicers of any alternate religions and bring a rapid collapse of the regional economy, very much like that of East Germany in the 1950's, where the masses got all of the grief, gulags and graves and the top party functionaries got all of the gold.

We also sent war planes, bombs and guns and massive amounts of cash to the King of Jordan, the Princes & other Royals in Saudi-land, SadDamn in Iraq, even the Ayatollah ... and, yes, even that (dead), Clinton wet cigar sucking, Philistine, Yousure AreFat ... AND just recently, to Israel (for a boat load of cash).

This is SOP for our Military/Industrial complex since ~1950: Place a big pile of grenades in the town square of any fascist military dictatorship and stand back and let them duke it out. This is what Ike warned us all about in his fate of the Union speech(s).

BTW: one on my employees just told me he believes that Al Quaaludah is now a figment of our collective, Pentagon driven, imaginations ... 'cause we NEED bad guys in the third world, to justify massive military budgets.

And another thing: If we GAVE a boatload of cash to the latest Kim in North Korea and just bought up his nuke making facilities, the rest of the world would be a much better place and so would they ... but, No!, we are still trying to pacify Him Kim with state department "negotiations" and occasional visits from religious "leaders" ... Cutting the US Air Force airborne tanker F-xx refueling program back to retrofit rather than "all new" would be about ten times more than needed to feed the entirety of North Korea for several years. ... Duh!

Look friends: We are spending way too much national wealth on the tin pots and helots over there. We have too many fascists right in our own backyard that need to be curbed.

The King of Jordan hasn't threatened Israel.
The Royals in Saudi Arabia haven't threatened Israel.
Sadam is dead.
The Ayatollah is dead.

I have to say, your writing style is becoming increasingly obnoxious lately, but you've managed to explain why that is with today's posts. It's 'cause your and idiot.

I consider that all a compliment ... When speaking of obnoxious individuals or obnoxious situations, the use of crude name calling is sometimes justified.

The point I wanted to make, obnoxiously or not, is that the World Super Powers are running out of bad guys to "blame" and to justify the massive, expensive, military / industrial complexes.

Yes, that old Ayatollah, et al, is dead or dying, but his replacements are rampant in the Islamo-Fascist world(s) ... and elsewhere.

Our catering to their whims, fantasies and desires is not turning a profit, monetarily or otherwise. It no longer benefits us or US or anyone else to do so.

-----

The newer King of Jordan hasn't threatened Israel, yet, but the Jordanian Arab in the street may.

The Royals in Saudi Arabia haven't threatened Israel, lately, but the wassabies are still holding sway in Mecca.

Sadam is dead, thanks to the Bush's, and as long as Hillary/Obama don't completely dismantle our air bases there, well ...

The old Ayatollah is dead, and there is a new Ayatollah in town ...
