Default The Al Jazeera Perspective

I thought it would be interesting to take a look at how their coverage differs. Here's a list of polls.

Will anti-Iraq occupation sentiment in the US increase as occupation gets more costly?

Those results prove they have the American sheeple figured out.

They're certainly keeping a close watch on American media and Democrats. Some of their articles are almost verbatim rip-offs. Arab news articles proclaiming Rush Limbaugh's influence to rally American support and so on.

Claims the US is using the real WMDs

I wonder how much coverage Saddam's killing, torture and imprisonments received.

I can tell you displaced...None! Before they got knocked out a couple of times, I used to monitor their site. There were times, whe it almost seemd that their claim to be fair, could be believed, but over all, if you kept watch, it was veery clear, that fair meant to them, a whole different definition. But one can still monitor their news, and get a drift on why it is so hard for any Western media to get any advantage! The Arab people are not only captives of dictatorships, but of a very one sided media.

It's funny how there's a big difference between English and Arabic versions of the site. Makes you wonder how much is sanitised for western consumption.

Something else that is noticeable is that they don't use the term "terrorist" unless it's in quotes whereas "bomber" has no quotes. Subtle cultural implication.
