Default Canadians Hate George W. Bush

Another good reason to have him re-elected. This shouldn't be surprising. Canadians dislike US machismo. This translates to Bush policies. Add to this that smug "We Are The World" mentality and this is what we get. McCleans

Like so much else coming from the conservative side of the aisle, it is SO much easier, to qualify dissenting opinions, as nothing more than HATE FOR BUSH. Forget about diffences of opinions on policies etc., just keep up that oft tossed cliche', that anyone who differs with the Bush administration, on anything, just hates Bush.

Sadly, the cliche is true. All the Dems that I know, freely admit that it's not the policies, but rather that they just hate him. Also the common response that I get to who they want nominated is that it doesn't matter, anybody is better than Bush.

It is, in fact, "oft tossed cliches" that are at the root of those differences. Most Democrats appear to believe that George Bush does nothing for the reasons that he states. He gets a prescription plan passed, it's a trick to help drug companies. Had this same plan been passed by Democrats, it would have been hailed as a major accomplishment.

The Democrats claim and their followers believe that the Republicans are for the rich, that they are against the poor and that they will do or say anything to maintain that condition. It wouldn't matter if they set bushel baskets of dollars on the doorsteps of every poor person in American, the Democrats would find a way to characterize it as a nefarious plot to destroy the "little man". That is the cliche that is most often tossed and it works on the weak-minded.

There are plenty of people in this country who have gained wealth through hard work, innovation in our capitalist system in an ethical way, I salute them. Kenny Boy, a long time Bush family crony, is not one of them. Bush is no conservative!

How enlightened of you! Why, you don't sound like a Democrat at all.

Laying the largesse of Ken Lay at the feet of George Bush is ridiculous. He prospered more from the attentions of the Clinton Administration than anyone. Enron was, in fact, all set to benefit from the Kyoto Treaty, but was thwarted by Bush refusing to sign it.

You are merely regurgitating the creaky old cliches, while you completely disregard the misbehavior of Democrats. The corruption of the Clinton Administration makes the Republicans look like Boy Scouts.

You have a problem with anachronism, ML. The Lay-Enron shenanigans happened almost entirely before January, 2001. IOW, if there was inadequate SEC enforcement, it was during WJC's administration. OTOH, it was during President Bush's administration that Enron was exposed, and though you will probably carp at the pace of the process, it will be President Bush's administration that set in motion Ken Lay being sent to jail. If your definition of cronyism accomodates sending them to prison, then Saddam and Osama must be Bush intimates.

So true. Just like those unsupported claims you made that the RR lives a better life than the RL.
