What the NY Times fails to focus upon is how mortgages were offered to many who couldn't afford them. Community Redevelopment Act. Today those people are paying the price.

Loans to people who can't pay them back. Great idea. lol. Some idiot who went out and mortgaged a McMansion should have it paid off by you and me? Oh heck no!
