Reminds me of the days of Jim Street and Woo Woo Wooster, the Wishbone, and stuff like that.

I'm loving this season. Yes, I would like for the Horns to win the Rose Bowl, but if they don't, I've still gotten my money's worth.

What an incredible TEAM!

Go Horns!

I think it's kind of funny. Five years ago they planned on winning the mythical title with Simms, Benson, Roy Williams, BJ Johnson, etc in their offense. Each one of these guys are playing in the NFL today and were high draft picks. They won a lot of games, but couldn't get past OU.

Today they have Vince Young, who wasn't even starting early in the season last year as a sophomore, and they run pound the ball at their opponents with three different RBs and Young himself. I haven't even mentioned the receivers. I don't know how many of these guys will play in the NFL, especially first round material, but this Texas team is literally like an army. It has so many weapons including the defense that not playing USC in the Rose Bowl would be a major disappointment.

I am wondering what the gossip is regarding Franchione at A&M. They have been smothered with injuries this year, but losing big to UT and missing a bowl in his 3rd year would be a let down. However, he should have four or five years to allow his first run of recruits make their mark.

Do you believe CU wins Big 12 North. I was embarrassed Friday on two accounts. Play of the Buffs. Fools in the stands. Gary Barnett needs to be held accountable. Team was not prepared. I defended him in the nonsense over recruiting. Now his job is probably safe because KU beats Iowa State. Go figure. Embarrassing. Crying or Very sad

I think they need to let BEVO & Ralphie have at it during halftime, too! Laughing

Can't help but think CU will really be up for this one. Revenge time? :)

Could be interesting.

UT is favored by 28 pts. It will be 31 - 3 at half-time.

What was the spread for the Texas/Texas A&M game?

About 28 pts. However, I think the final score was a fluke. Vince fell asleep, but they still scored 40 pts or 33 on offense.

I see it this way. Analysts were concerned about Tech, but I thought they were over-rated at #10. An up and coming Baylor team had hopes of keeping it a good game. Both got spanked and neither was close to the spread.

I was way off. Should have known Aggies would give them a bit of a fight.

Yep, Vince wasn't with-it for that game. That freshman Aggie QB was a surprise, to me. It will be interesting to see how well he does next year, once he gets a bit more action and game films floating around. He's still an unknown at this point, and that gives him some protection.

I figured UT would have adjusted better in the 2nd half. My gut tells me they will blow out CU, but that's no knock against CU. Texas is a man among boys this year.

Although it won't be necessary, I would love to see UT run practice and run some plays from the Wishbone or Single Wing. That would catch USC off guard so bad. I think Texas will beat USC, because they are so much faster. Well, I hope they are.

Another unknown game coming up is in basketball. On December 10th, #2 UT plays # 1 Duke in New Jersey.

It's worse than I thought. 35- 3 with 7:20 to play in the 1st half.

They need to get one maybe two more TDs, then put Vince on the SL.

I agree. Well, it's 49-3. Vince has bigger fish to fry in January.

Edit: 63-3 with 10 min left in the 3rd qtr.

I am going to listen to the Plano / SL Carroll game. Plano is winning 20-16 at the half.

Trouble in Paradise. Ch.8 Austin
SOURCE
UT football players accused in robberies, assaults
12/16/2005 4:30 PM
By: News 8 Austin Staff

Several football players from The University of Texas are being investigated by the Austin Police Department for robbery by assault, according to sources close to the investigation.

The investigation stems from two incidents on Sept. 4 and December 10.

The two incidents involve robbery by assault. Sources tell us that the victims are telling police they were downtown when they were beaten up and robbed of their money.

There have been no arrests and no indictments in the investigations, but the cases have been turned over to the district attorney's office for further review.

At least three of the players may be starters for the Longhorn team, sources say.

The Texas Longhorns are ranked No. 2 in the nation and are set to play USC for the National Championship in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 4. It remains unclear what impact these criminal investigations will have on the team's starting line-up.
