| The best team the first two games of this series has been the Av's no question. The optimist in me wants to think the Stars can pull it out like they have done before, however the realist in me is wondering if they have their tee times reserved for the week after next. I hope that they can at least survive in the series long enough to see a game 5 or 6. |

Drew,
We will see what this team is made of tonight. If they mail it in look for wholesale overhaul of this team. There is something missing. There is a chemistry or coaching problem. Plenty of talent. No heart. _________________ David Gold |

| Is anyone else having a problem getting this game on FSN? I have Dish Network and they say it is blacked out. I can't imagine that being true. |

| Stars pull out a big win tonight, Is it too little too late? Or are the Stars coming to life? If they can pull out a win on Wednesday and tie up the series, then we just may have a series on our hands. The talent is there, and I believe that the heart is there, the two were just not in sync in the first two games. I hope that this is the confidence boost that they need. GO STARS!!!! And I was able to see the game fine on FSN on (semi) Digital Cable. |

| I finally got it with about 5 mins left in the 2nd period. I was livid to say the least. But at least I got to see the comeback. Dish network incorrectly blocked the game. They try to blame it on FSN. They have not heard the last of me. :pod: |

| How "aboot" those Bruins!!! coming up from behind and winning game 4 in overtime to take a 3-1 lead in the series!!! The playoffs are very exciting this year. My new bride and I are sooo into it. She was almost as excited to see Nashville beat the dead wings as she was to see the Stars beat the avs. |

I hope you are enjoying these playoffs. I am too. The only thing I worry about is will there even be playoffs next year at this time?

Stars didn't show up today in Denver. This team will see some major overhauls. _________________ David Gold |

????The Stars were the hottest team in Hockey the couple of weeks before Turco's suspension. Not sure how much that had to do with anything but it was certainly a distraction. Ya can't tell me the talent isn't there. Dave's got it right...."major overhaul" for the Stars is likely!
Now I've got to wait another year (maybe longer) for my Stars/Wings match-up for the best in the West. Yzerman/Joseph finish off the Preds. |

It is a shame, Even the ESPN guys (who traditionaly are anti-stars) are commenting that they are shocked that the Stars did not do better in the post season. It is a shame that with the talent that is on the bench such as Modano, Guerin, Lehtinen, and even the recently "perked up" Turgeon, as well as the younger talent such as Morrow, Ott, Kapanen and Oliver (who has cooled down toward the end of the season) And Turco has not played the same since his little outburst, could not get it all together. Whether it was the suspension, Coaching or just some other intangible, it is sad to see that much talent get knocked out so early in the post season. What do you guys see as the biggest overhaul? Tippet gone? Major dumping of Veteran players for younger prospects? will Junior Lessard be a force? These and more questions may have to wait for a while to be answered pending a lockout.
Yes Dave, the only series that I am not getting into yet is the Calgary Vancouver, Otherwise I am savoring every game as they may be the last for a while. |

So much for those Bruins. Today is a dark day in Boston. If there is a season next year, look for a new coach (make no mistake, Sullivan's job was on the line. The condition was a trip to the second round), and a revamped team. Jacob is going to figure that if spent money and didn't get it then he might as well completely slash the budget.
I should note that last night's game was one of the most intense I've seen in a while from the Bruins. They came out swinging. Theodore just shut the door on them. Raycroft deserves some credit too. He played a hell of a game, and the one he did let in would've required him to completely reset himself from the side to front in a matter of of half a second, which is a heroic feet for the best of goalies. The second goal, if you didn't see it, was an empty netter in the final minute.
Then again, we might not have a next year. I don't know what's going to happen with the league. Have to wait for June to figure that one out.
On the plus side for Boston sports today: the Sox beat the dreaded Yanks with a come-from-behind win to take 3 out of 4. |

| Went to the Stars/Avs game 5 in Denver with my Stars jersey making me stand out like a sore thumb..I have found sports fans in Denver to be a little more passionate about their teams than those in Dallas were. Boy, did the Stars look unenthused by even having to play this game, I am certain tee times were already made....can't wait to see what form of dismantling will happen, coach, GM, players,...Since I am not a native Texan, having lived in Dallas for about 5 years before moving to Denver..I am wondering how long and how much free agency will happen before I don't recognize the Stars I used to root for and find myself rooting for the Avs..we'll see.... |

Everything is on hold. We must wait for a CBA agreement. There may well be no regular season of note next year.
That being said, the Stars must keep Modo,Turco,Zubov,Guerin. They have guaranteed contracts. With that payroll cash already committed, my guess is, they will dump others wholesale in return for prospects. _________________ David Gold |

It's a hot topic in the Herald: what will the office do with the looming CBA? Will owners get rid of players to make way for what they believe will be cheaper stars, or will they wait until after the CBA to wheel and deal?
I'd hate to see Jacobs break up the Bruins, but I'm sure he's eyeing the fact that the league has to come up with some sort of salary cap in order to survive. The players union has already said that if a salary cap does take effect they will walk.
If that happens it will be a very interesting day for hockey. Look at it from the Bruins point of view: Samsonov goes home, along with 1 or 2 others. Without Samsonov, the bruins don't have a team.
If those who qualify go back home to play, it will be a loss to many teams, but it will also greatly level the playing field amongst the teams in terms of skill.
There's a lot that can happen. I just hope it can get resolved and there is a season. |
