Suck. This deserves its own thread.
I have just witnessed another pitiful performance by the Dallas Stars. This time it was an embarrassing 6-2 loss to the Red Wings. The Red Wings got very healthy against the Stars. They had been struggling.
The Stars play is sloppy and undisciplined. Their "stars" Modano, Zubov, Turco are stinking it up.
Look for a coaching change soon if this continues. Look for a major selling off of players after that. _________________ David Gold |

Dave,
looking for the Stars to end their slump against the Coyotes. Turco, Modano and the rest of the team need to get it in gear. Turco has a .883 save percentage which is the lowest for a starting goalie in the NHL. As for the rest of the team, they have been outscore 17-4 in their last four. It's still early but with 1/4 of the season gone it doesn't look good! |

Here is the first move. I expect more. Ft. Worth Star Telegram
Stars trade for defenseman Klemm
Star-Telegram
The Stars acquired veteran defenseman Jon Klemm from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Staphane Robidas and a second-round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Klemm, 33, has appeared in 19 games with Chicago, leading the team with a +6 plus/minus rating.
A nine-year veteran, Klemm won two Stanley Cups with the Colorado Avalanche (1996, 2001) before signing with Chicago as a free agent.
"Jon Klemm is a veteran player who we feel will help solidify our defensive corps," said Armstrong. "He has strong leadership qualities and adds size and determination to our team."
Robidas, 26, appeared in 14 games with the Stars. Klemm is expected to join the team for practice on Tuesday. _________________ David Gold |

| Perhaps a step in the right direction, we need big defensemen, Klemm at 6' 2" 200lbs could be a desperately needed addition to the lineup. I personally liked Robidas, however gaining 3 inches and 11 lbs may help in the defense department for the Stars. |

| Stars have only one loss in their last five games and have only allowed 5 goals in their last five games. Good way to end the year, lets hope they can keep it going. Marty has also looked good. |

Ok, Can't wait any longer.
Stars have only 2 losses in their last 17. (12-2-3)
They are a solid 5th in the West and only 10 points behind the league leading Wings. IMHO, they are playing better hockey than anyone in the league except for maybe Tampa. They are awesome playing at home with only 6 home losses. Thats the fewest home losses in the league except for the Wings which have just 5. Plenty of games left for them to overtake the Sharks for 1st in the Pacific.
This team is a keeper and what can you say about Guerin and Marty. Marty has been carrying the load for my fantasy hockey team all year!
Lets go Stars! |

Stars pull of a big one. Not Chris Therien. How about Val Bure skating with Modano and Lehtinen? A month ago they could have been seen as sellers. They are going for it. With the Avs struggling and The Wings loaded with injuries, they are going for it. _________________ David Gold |

The Stars are sure breathing down the Sharks' neck.
After the Sharks rather lame and sleepy loss to the Oilers last night, they should be geared up to eat octopus tomorrow night, then be ready for Dallas again.

| Ouch, What was Marty thinking? Bad time of year to take a 4 game suspension....(Doesn't help my fantasy team either!) |

You were the first person I thought about when I heard the news. Your goaltending is in good shape, Gary. Those two shutouts set you up for the week. _________________ David Gold |

Whether or not Marty's Suspension cost the Stars home ice advantage (that is a entirely different discussion) the Series is set for Wednesday night as the first round begins for the Stars in Denver. Arnott, Klemm and Morrow are all expected to play, which leaves only Scott Young and John Erskine on the IR list. With Bure, Turgeon, Morrow all playing good, And Marty "Well Rested" What are your thoughts on the first round?
I predict the Stars in the Fifth.
OK, perhaps the Sixth? |

The only team which is tougher to predict than the Stars ai the Avs. They have such great talent. However, the chemistry has been tough in coming together. They have had tough injuries. A lot depends on Aebischer. He's under a lot of pressure. If he wins game one look out. Gotta go with my head. Avs in 6. _________________ David Gold |
